City Kids Dance
City Dance is an early childhood concept based dance program which has served communites in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens from 2005-2021.
Why Dance?
I founded City Kids Dance in 2005 when I moved to Brooklyn from Manhattan where I taught dance for 12 years in private schools, dance programs and studios. CKD's early childhood dance and movement programs were developed after meeting many parents in the neighborhood who expressed to me their desire to put their little ones in dance classes which focused on a more concept based, family oriented program emphasizing a child’s creativity and individuality.
Based on my years of experience teaching dance and on current best practices and recommendations in early childhood development and education, I created a original dance and movement curriculum for children with a conceptual approach to movement and expression designed to develop children's social-emotional selves. This specialized program allows the child to become aware of their bodies not only as it relates to the physical experience but also from the emotional, creative, and intellectual perspective.
